Brill Power
Brill Power was born from three students of Oxford University who identified the need for more fficient battery storage in a more electrified world. Their ground-breaking approach used three technologies that combine to make batteries smart, allowing real-time manipulations to keep equlibreum inside the cells and maximisng potential. We built a brand platform around Battery Intelligence to clearly communicate the technology benefits. This also reinforced their links to academia and Oxford University from where the company was born, and leverages their continued links in the continued supply of new talent for growth.

Harnessing potential
Working with the original symbol, we refined and simplified the elements which have their roots in windmills, one of the oldest examples of harnessing potential energy. We took this purpose further, creating a 3D world of energy strands contained and harnessed by Brill Power's technology. These strands echo the four outer quadrants housing the brand symbol.

Three technologies, one system
Giving reason for the four colours inherited from the original logo we applied a single-colour approach to sub-brand each stand-alone technology, but still allowing them to cohesively sit together.

A design system rooted in tis DNA
We created a design system for layout that drew on the staggered shapes of the brand symbol and the pioneering research-led DNA of the company – creating a system that feels like annotated notes and additions to research papers. We gave each full-strength colour a corresponding pastel paper version to be used alongside.

A comprehensive icon set
With so many features and benefits across the three technologies, we needed a compreshensive custom icon set. This became a cornerstone of the identity, making it a feature rather than solely a short-hand. We integrated it into the copy itself – used for key brand statements, as well as defining key features.
